HOW TO PLAY BLACKJACK
Basically, blackjack is relatively simple. There may be several players at a table, each of whom competes individually against the dealer – that is, the dealer of the cards. The dealer shuffles the cards, deals them and also controls the betting. At least one hand of 52 cards is required to play blackjack. The values of the cards are according to their imprint, while the pictures can represent ten points and the ace can represent one or eleven points. The goal is now to get 21 points with his cards, but never more, because so the player lost directly. First, each player gets one card and then is free to decide whether to get another.
After the players at the table have all completed their hands, the dealer also draws cards for his hand. After 17 points, he stops drawing. If the players have more points, they win, otherwise the dealer wins. If there is a tie, neither side wins and the bet goes back to the player.
BLACKJACK STEP BY STEP
A round of blackjack is simple in principle, but of course it looks a little different in detail. First, a round begins with the players setting their bets. At a table there are usually minimum bets and betting limits. Then the dealer starts shuffling the cards and a player separates the deck. This is to prevent potential card counting. Now each player receives one card from the dealer, which is laid out face up in front of them. In addition, the dealer also gives himself a card. Next, each player is dealt another card. The dealer also receives a second card, but this time face down. In a game with only one deck of cards, the player cards are also dealt face down.
If the player has an ace and a face card, he can be happy, because then he has 21 points and thus a Black Jack. If the dealer does not have a Black Jack, the player’s winnings are paid out immediately. Conversely, however, the dealer wins and everyone without a Black Jack loses their bet. In the event of a tie, the bet is returned since neither side has won.
The normal course of the game is for players to decide for themselves whether or not they want to draw more cards. This can be done verbally or by signals with their hands. The player has to think about chances and risks. He must try to reach 21 points or as high a number as possible, but must not get above 21 points, because then he immediately loses. One way to improve one’s chances a bit or at least get a higher win is the so-called double down. If the player’s first two cards have a value between 9 and 11, he is free to double his original bet. Then he receives another card face down, which is revealed only after the other one has been evaluated.
SPLITTING THE CARDS
Splitting the cards is about the player receiving two identical cards at the beginning. These can be two kings, for example. He is now free to treat these two cards as separate hands. The bet then applies twice to the first and second card, and the second bet can also be increased. Thus, the player has two chances, which is not available to the dealer.
PLAYING THE BEST GAME
Even if there is no guarantee of winning, there is at least the optimal play. What is meant by this is that you make the best use of the probabilities. The dealer’s hand is also taken into account. If the dealer has cards worth 7 to Ace, the player should draw up to a maximum of 17 points. Otherwise, the player should not draw from 12 points, so as not to take any unnecessary risk.

Insurance in blackjack is about placing a side bet to the current game, and it is placed when the dealer reveals an ace. The side bet assumes that the dealer will draw a 10 or face card next. If this is the case, players are paid double the amount of the side bet for their insurance.
